Recently Deleted is an installation juxtaposing the ease of digital communication with the intricacy of tactile printing methods, formed from a collection of anonymous content from the notes app. The otherwise arbitrary text is displayed using traditional printing methods (sign painting, linocut and typewriter) brought to life through its intrinsically human presentation.
This project grew from a series of interviews conducted with five individuals involved in preserving historic type practices. These conversations framed the guiding question for the project: can the meaning of written content change depending on the time it took to materialize? In-depth summaries and reflections from these interviews were compiled into a zine presented alongside the installation.
