Witness is a collection of photographs all taken in New York City in the 1970s and 80s by eight photographers. Some images are accompanied by anonymous captions—instinctual assumptions—written by my friends and family.

This hand-bound book explores people-watching as an act of learning, assuming, and misinterpreting. Page cutouts throughout the book form windows through which fleeting moments of humanity are immortalized.
